How we got started.
Before we
got married, there was a Christian Endeavor
Conference one weekend at Tahquitz Pines in Idylwild, California near the San
Bernardino mountains. Richard asked me
to go with him. I was reluctant to go. I felt guilty leaving my mother alone.
She and I were moving from our Montclair Street house to our fourplex apartment
in Los Angeles that weekend. I had never left her alone since my dad’s death
and especially at such a time as this, was hard for me.
